About

Train smart. Eat real. Live local.

Most fitness apps assume you live somewhere in particular, shop somewhere in particular and own a squat rack. Smart Gym Pal asks first, then builds around your answers.

Why it exists

A plan is only personal if it starts with you.

A generic programme fails quietly. It suggests ingredients your shop does not stock, exercises for equipment you cannot reach, and five training days for someone with three free evenings. You never argue with it. You just stop opening it.

So Smart Gym Pal asks first. Your goal, where you are starting from, how many days and how many minutes you really have, what is in your gym, what you do not eat, and where you live. Your training block and the meals that go with it are written from those answers.

The rest of the app is deliberately small. Log the four things that matter, look at your week, check in on a Sunday, and see how you are doing next to people chasing the same goal. That is it.

What we hold to

Four things we keep coming back to.

Built around you, not an average

Your targets start from your own details and the goal you picked, rather than a number pulled off a chart. They are a sensible place to begin and adjust from as the weeks go by — not a personal medical assessment.

Food you can actually buy

Fitness travels; groceries do not. Your dietary preferences and where you live shape the meals, so the shopping list reads like a normal week’s shop.

Logging that fits a busy day

Four things to log, and a way into each of them from the home screen. If logging a glass of water feels like a chore, nobody does it twice.

Nothing changes behind your back

Your plan stays as generated until you ask for a new one. The weekly check-in gives you something to act on; it does not quietly rewrite what you are doing.

What is Smart Gym Pal?

An app that writes you a workout plan and a daily meal plan from a short profile, then gives you somewhere to log food, water, exercise and weight against them. It also charts your week, runs a weekly check-in, and puts you on a leaderboard with people training towards the same goal.

Which phones is it on?

Smart Gym Pal is available on Android today, through Google Play.

How is the workout plan built?

It picks a split — full-body, upper-lower or push-pull-legs — from how many days a week you train and how long a session can run. Each day has a warm-up, main lifts, accessories and an optional finisher, with sets, reps and rest written out. You also get progression notes and a lighter deload week, by default every fourth week. Only equipment you told us you have is used, and anything you are working around is taken into account.

Where do my calorie and macro targets come from?

From the profile you fill in — your details, how active you are, and the goal you picked. They are an estimate to start from and adjust as you see how your weeks actually go, not a personal medical assessment. If you have a health condition or you are unsure, talk it through with a professional first.

Do the meals suit where I live?

Your dietary preferences — vegetarian, halal, anything you would rather skip — carry into every meal, and where you live is part of your profile, so meals lean towards everyday food rather than specialist ingredients. Each one comes with ingredients, instructions, prep time and its macros, plus a weekly grocery list you tick off as you shop.

Can I use it without a gym?

Yes. You tell us what equipment you can actually reach when you sign up, and the plan sticks to it. You can note injuries or limitations too, and they are taken into account when your exercises are chosen.

Does my plan adapt on its own?

No, and that is on purpose. The plan you generated stays put until you replace it. What the app does do is check in with you weekly — weight, mood, sleep, soreness, energy and notes — and come back with written coach feedback on how your recent weeks have gone. What you do next is your call.

How does the squad leaderboard work?

You are matched with people by goal, age within about ten years, and activity level. The weekly board is ranked by workouts completed and starts fresh on Monday. Points, current and longest streaks and earned badges carry across weekly, monthly and all-time views.

What do I get without paying?

Your first workout plan, your first meal plan, and every logging, progress, check-in and squad screen in the app. A subscription adds a monthly allowance of new plans. Full detail is on the pricing page.

How do I delete my account?

From inside the app. Deleting an account removes the profile, plans, logs, weight entries, check-ins and badges attached to it. How your data is handled while the account exists is set out in the privacy policy.
